World Cities Day

31 October 2019
World Cities Day

Planned urbanization increases the capacity of cities to generate employment and prosperity, as well as promoting diversity and social cohesion between different classes, cultures, ethnic groups and religions. Cities designed to live together create opportunities, make connections and interaction possible and facilitate sustainable use of shared resources.

The theme for this year is: “Inclusive Cities, Shared Development”. The United Nations has chosen this theme to emphasize the important role of urbanization for global development and social integration.
